Hello Fellow CUOC’ers

Here’s the information from the January 21st CUOC meeting.

CUOC Announcements

CUOC formal is coming up on February 6th. It will be from 6-10 PM in the ADK Lodge and feature music, dancing, and food from Aramark. The cost will be $15 per person and you can begin paying next week. We would REALLY appreciate it if you RSVP’d on knightlife so that we can get an idea of how many people will be attending.

Winterfest will will be February 7th at Seven Springs (directions-.google.com/maps ) There will be games, prizes, free food, music, a bonfire, and numerous fun challenges.

We’ve obtained 10 new pairs of poles to use for both back country skiing and snow shoeing. It’s kind of a big deal.

The NOLS course will send 8 clarkson students into the ADK’s for 10 days of backpacking and 4 days of rock climbing from August 2nd to 16th. There will be an interest meeting held on February 26th in the ADK lodge.

Pre-Orientation trip info is needed immediately. If you would like to lead a trip (and nothing is garunteed) please fill out the attached form with your partner and return it to Andrew Toman.

Dan The Man (jaremcd@clarkson.edu) will be putting up flyers for Winterfest next week. If you want to get club service hours and help him out please let him know.

Kyle Stone (stonekt@clarkson.edu) wants to help people learn to wax their skis. Let him know if you would like to get some of his expertise.

Jake Brown (brownjp@clarkson.edu) will be doing climbing skills classes starting this Friday at 3:30 in the ADK lodge. Let him know if you’re interested. This is highlyrecommended for people aspiring to go to Red River Gorge over spring break.

If you plan to go to Red River Gorge rock climbing over spring break please get in contact with Paul Doerner (doernerpm@clarkson.edu)

John Sullivan is working on getting roll sessions going in the pool, stay tuned for more info.

Snow Shoes and Micro Spikes are in high demand. PLEASE bring them back Friday from 4-5 and talk to Patrick about renting them out again if you need them.

Trips Of The Week

Pauls epic ice climbing adventures, featuring axe wacking, cold temps, and improper stove use.

Evan’s backcountry ski trip up Azure. Lots of powder, and lots of falls. Perhaps their minds were too free???

Dan Allen (allendr@clarkson.edu) will be hiking Macomb Mt. on Saturday. A long ski in and a long hike up. This will be an higher difficulty trip.

Evan Bilsback (bilsbaer@clarkson.edu) will be skiing Azure on Sunday at 9.

James Guglielmo (gugliejd@clarkson.edu) will be XC skiing at White Hill Wild Forest. It’s going to be SUPER fun and you can be back to campus by 2 so hit him up.

There was lots of info in this email but it’s totally worth reading through all of it because you know how much work I put into it. See you all next week.
