Hello Fellow CUOC’ers

Here’s the information from the September 2nd CUOC meeting.

Welcome To CUOC

Want to become a member? Just fill out your waivers (Waiver 1 and Waiver 2), bring $15 to Adam Graham at our next meeting, and register on knightlife.

Want to become an Active Member for increased benefits? Do all of the previous stuff, plus attend 4 trips and give 3 hours of service.

CUOC Announcements

46 Climbs for Suicide Prevention will be held between September 5th and September 13th. CUOC aims to raise $4600 for the cause. Learn about 46 Climbs and support team CUOC. If you want to hike a mountain, contact the people already signed up here, or fill in your name for any blanks.

Canoe Fest will be held on September 19th from 10-2. It will feature a BBQ, games, hammocking, canoeing, prizes, music, tie-dye, and fn. Be there!

Stickers are here and up for sale!!! get the 3 different ones individually for $1 a piece, or all 3 for $2. Only available during meetings.

Patagonia is giving us the chance to order some sweet sweaters for $58. This deal will be for Active members only. Contact Paul Doerner ( if you’re interested.

White water roll sessions will be tuesdays and thursdays from 5:30 to 7 at the boathouse. This is absolutely necessary if you plan on going white water kayaking with club.

Ron Kon, legendary ADK backcountry skier, will be attending our September 16th to talk about his Rad lifestyle. It’s kind of a big deal.

Katherine Furland ( and her floor will be going white water rafting on September 13th. There’s limited spots but contact her if you wish to go.

John Sullivan ( is putting together Fall Lake Saranac for our upcoming fall break. Email hi if you are interested.

Gear Hours

The gear cage will be open from 12:30 to 2:30 on Friday. Stop by to help clean up and you can receive service hours.

Paul Doerner will be cleaning climbing gear at 5pm this Thursday. Help out to get service hours.

Trips Going Out: Open to all unless noted otherwise

Dylan Gilgallon ( will be biking around campus starting at 4:30 on Friday. Start going on these trips if you wish to join him over fall break for a multi-day adventure.

Paul Doerner ( is leading an intro to rock climbing tip to South Colton on Sunday. The group will leave at 10:30 and there is a 3 car limit so sign up fast.

Andrew Toman ( will be leading an easy-moderate backpacking trip of the Macintyre range leaving Fridayafternoon. The backpacking portion will only be 2.5 to 3 miles and there will be a sunrise hike the following morning.

Connor Raymond ( will be leading an intro to caving trip on Saturday for 6 begginers.

Dan Jaremczuk ( will be leading an intro to caving trip on Sunday for 3 begginers.

Patrick Conlon ( will be leading an intro hiking trip up Street and Nye on Saturday with the intent to return in time for Fall Fest.

Adam Graham ( will be climbing Cliff and maybe more mountains on Sunday.

Kyle Tobin ( will be hiking Giant and RPR on Saturday and has 1 spot remaining.

Mike Coelho ( will be leading a stargazing trip to Azure Friday night.

Dave Desmond ( will be leading a night climbing trip to South Colton Friday night leaving at 7pm.

Ethan Hoefler ( will be leading an intro to fly fishing trip to Salmon River. Let him know if you are interested.

Troy Bates ( will be hammocking and canoeing by the boathouse at 5pm on Friday. Canoe out to the rope swing for some good fun.

Dan Allen ( will be in Saranac Lake on Sunday and Monday for Hobo Fest, a local musician jam fest.

Alex White ( will be trail running this week.

Brooklin Cohen ( will be hiking Nippletop and Dial on Sunday.

Caitlin Skufca ( will be hiking Colden on Sunday.

Adam Haskin ( and Dan Jaremczuk will be climbing at South Colton early Friday afternoon. Moderately experienced climbers only. We will be there from 10:30 to 3. Ride with us or drive yourself when convenient.

Adam Haskin ( will be hiking the Santanoni range on Saturday. Leaving at 5am, hiking 17 miles, and making it back for RoBro.

That’s all for this week. 2 CUOC meetings down, and still a whole year of rad adventure to go.
