Hello Fellow CUOC’ers

Here’s the information from the October 21st CUOC meeting.

CUOC Announcements

-Follow CUOC on instagram at cu_outingclub and don’t forget the tags #dontgetdead #cuoc #freshmanadamisthebestsecretaryever

-Stickers are here and up for sale!!! get the 3 different ones individually for $1 a piece, or all 3 for $2. Only available during meetings.

-Congratulations to our new Active Members: Brianna Doerfler, Anthony Rinaldo, Josh Valentine, Charlie Maitland, Justin Moore, Dean DeFilippo, and Wil Hallstrom.

-Trip of the week goes to Katie Koehler on Dial and Nippletop with the groups hawaiian shirt – snow combo.

-Email Dave Desmond ( with your detailed service hours and attended trips to become an active member.

-Elections for Executive Board members will take place on November 11th, and the elections for chair positions will be on November 18th.

-Parents weekend is this weekend. Saturday the 24th will feature a hike up Azure in the morning leaving Cheel at 9, and a BBQ at the ADK Lodge at noon. Show your parents what CUOC is all about.

-The St. Lawrence rock climbing wall is currently closed until the climbing competition next Thursday (maybe?).

– Patrick Conlon ( will be conducting a bridge building service project next weekend. Let him know of you think you could be of benefit to this project.
Gear Hours

-The gear cage will be open from 12:30 to 2:30 on Friday. Please return gear that you don’t still need. (MICROSPIKES)

-Contact Paul Doerner ( or Miles Miller ( and they will be happy to give out climbing gear (for going to SLU and State) with ample notice. Please return any gear that you are not actively using.

Trips Going Out: Open to all unless noted otherwise
-Dylan Gilgalon ( will do a group mt bike ride if there is interest on Friday afternoon, and will be going to Seven Springs at some point over the weekend.

-Dave Desmond ( will be skiing the Whiteface auto road on Friday.

-Adam Graham ( will be hiking in Saranac lake on Thursday, and hiking Azure Friday night. This time the night hike will include cinnamon in the cinnamon rolls.

-Evan Bilsback ( will be hiking Ampersand on Saturday.

-Dan The Man ( will be leading an experienced caving trip on Sunday if there is interest, but will lead any degree of trip that is not water sports on Friday and Saturday if you need a guide.

-Andrew Toman ( will be hiking either Mt. Arab or a small Saranac Sixer on Sunday afternoon.

-Patrick Conlon ( will be having a joyous time trail running Allen on Sunday.

-Katherine Furland ( and Ross 1 will be hiking somewhere on Sunday.

-Josh Raboin ( will be hiking a 46’er at some point over the weekend. Have an idea? Let him know he’s a pretty cool dude.
